Kiplin Hall
Kiplin Hall, in the beautiful Vale of Mowbray, was built in the 1620s for George Calvert, Secretary of State to James I, later 1st Lord Baltimore and founder of Maryland, USA. Its design was unique in Jacobean architecture, with central domed towers on each side of a tall symmetrical pavilion in mellow red brick.

The Green Howards
The Friends of the Green Howards website was established to provide information on the Green Howards. Although some information on the 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment (Green Howards) will be carried on this website, the main purpose of the Friends website will be to provide historical information on the Green Howards.

Wensleydale Railway
The Wensleydale Railway runs trains between Leeming Bar (near the A1/A684 jct) and Redmire (on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park), via Bedale and Leyburn. The 17 mile trip takes approximately 50 minutes.

The World of James Herriot
Discover The World of James Herriot is situated in Skeldale House in Thirsk - in the original Grade two listed house where the James Herriot stories were born.

Swaledale Ponies
Yorkshires first Western riding centre is situated at the top of Swaledale, 20 miles from Richmond, 25 miles from the A1 and 35 from the M6. It is surrounded by some of the most spectacular countryside in England, all of which can be reached by the network of bridleways close-by.

Ellerton Park
Ellerton Park is a fresh water, spring fed 60 acre lake located in the village of Ellerton near to the A1, Richmond and Northallerton. The park is ideal for all forms of water sports- sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, fishing and diving. It is well stocked with Carp, Bream, Roach, Perch and Pike.

The Station
Richmond station was opened in 1846. Passenger services ceased in 1968. In 2003, after a chequered history, the building was taken over by the newly formed Richmondshire Building Preservation Trust, with the aim of restoring it to its future splendour and making it once again a focal point of the local community.

At Laceys Cheese we take great pride in our craft to bring you a high quality, locally produced product. Why don't you come on down to The Station to see, first hand, how traditional cheeses are made.

Black Sheep Brewery
Learn how the Black Sheep Brewery was established in the early 90's, find out about our range of traditional ales, discover how they are brewed and where to drink them. You can also see what our Visitor Centre and famous Bistro have to offer, and can buy on line from the Brewery shop.

Gerald Hodgson Studio
Gerald Hodgson is a professional artist, living and working in the historic town of Richmond, North Yorkshire - ‘The Gateway to the North Yorkshire Dales’. His studio, situated at 5 Millgate, has been established since 1972 and is visited each year, by a great number of people, from all over the world.
